The Mahjong Collection

Three tiles from the mahjong table, carved as pendants by Maison Kastel: the flower and the bird of spring, and the bamboo of prosperity, set in colored gemstones and diamonds on mother-of-pearl. Made in limited number and reserved by pre-order.

The Flower pendant — pink and yellow sapphire peony on a mother-of-pearl mahjong tile framed in diamonds

The Flower

A single bloom in full flower, its petals pavé-set in pink sapphires around a heart of yellow sapphires. A pear-cut pink stone forms the closing bud; tsavorite leaves turn along a diamond stem. The character 春, spring, is cut in gold at the corner of the tile.

The Bird

The bird of the spring tile, rendered in colored stone: an emerald crown, a wing of blue sapphires, a breast of pavé diamonds, and a tail of green. It rests on a gold branch set with diamonds, tsavorite leaves, and buds of pink sapphire, beneath the character 春.

The Bamboo

Bamboo rises in baguette-cut tsavorites, jointed in polished gold, with marquise leaves and sprays of diamond. The character 發, fa, is the tile of prosperity and growth; it is the tile every player hopes to draw.
